O scale 60' (15") SELLERS TURNTABLE KIT
This kit is based on the 60' Sellers cast iron turntable built in Philadelphia, PA and used in the US, Australia and other countries. Railroads such as the DSP&P, EBT, V&T, Ma & Pa, IC, and others used this type of turntable.
This craftsman kit is not a "shake the box" kit and requires skill and craftsmanship to build. The first picture is of the built up pilot model. The second picture shows what is included in the kit. Note that the bridge beam assembly is partly built to make assembly of the kit easier for the modeler. The pit ties are cast resin and have tie plates for easier construction. The parts are spincast resin, spincast Britannia metal, plastic, brass and wood. Click the instructions link to look at the instructions.
When completed and properly installed in a layout it would be suitable for turning small locomotives like the On30 Bachmann (TM) locos (Shay, Mogul, Climax, Forney, Porters, Consolidation) as well as smaller On3 locos. It might hold a K27 but not anything longer. It might also be usable for small O scale 2 rail locomotives.
